A Walk through Time with Kacha Buri

If only there were a magical mirror that could take us back in time like those fantasy literature and sci-fi films! Now we would like to introduce KACHA BURI, our new vintage furniture and collectible store offering a wide range of exceptional items sourced from Thailand and across the world.

Founded by antique connoisseurs and collectors Kachacharn and Theathitiwut, KACHA BURI is filled with exquisite and diverse objects. Despite travel restrictions, the two enthusiasts can seek out one-of-a-kind pieces due to a closed connection with worldwide dealers and online technology.

Being unique and diverse is their philosophy so this newly open hotspot has been divided into two floors. From the very first step into this timeless place, you might feel like exploring in the suite of fantastic rooms of a royal palace in Europe or Sherlock Holmes’ Victorian house!

The flamboyant cascading chandeliers have beautiful appearances extending a field of lights gracefully welcome guests as they enter. The extravagant lamp post characterized with a unique spirit of Paris at the entrance is a great example of most items here made in France.

Another one is an elegant Art Deco sofa from the Hôtel de Crillon, a luxury hotel from the 18th century now still operating in the 8th district in Paris where the famous Place de la Concorde is located with an array of luxury jewelers. This gorgeous piece of vintage furniture is found next to a small gothic cabinet in hexagonal shape. For those who love home decoration, this antique shop has a wide range of vintage European cabinets made of brass and wood from different eras such as Italian Rococo and Napoleon III. They all embrace exquisite carving and ivory inlay craftsmanship. If you are a music enthusiast looking for an addition to your collection, there is a huge music box from the 19th century with an absolutely fine sound quality. Exploring more inside, you will also discover a rare black and gold harmonium. This kind of musical instruments is like a smaller-sized church organ and is placed next to a large bronze lamp with crystals. Is this a curtain call at the opera?

Last but not least, a cozy corner hidden inside is decorated with a huge vintage oil painting that makes you imagine a fantastic walk through the museums in Europe. A series of small vintage porcelain dolls is juxtaposed with a dining table where there is a wonderful Benjarong bowl large enough to contain cold drinking water. With a keen sense of style, this antique shop truly has a perfect combination between Thai and European elements. The first floor also features a big flower pot as a centerpiece decorated with several tiny tiles once used for constructing a majestic pavilion in the King Rama III era and a well-polished horse sculpture created by a Thai master sculptor Roengsak Boonyawanichkul.
