Announcement of Winners of RCB Portrait Prize 2022
River City Bangkok organized RCB Portrait Prize 2022 which is the 2nd portraiture competition. This year, we received almost 200 artworks from across Thailand in which 80 are chosen to be the finalists by the judges. Now, the judges are making their decision on the winners of the Portrait Prize of 500,000 THB and the Packing Room Prize of 200,000 THB.
Presided over by Bangkok governor Associate Professor Dr. Chadchart Sittipun, the winners announcement will be on Thursday 15 September at RCB Forum on the 2nd floor at 2 p.m. in the presence of finalists and sitters.
The RCB Portrait Prize 2022 exhibition is open to the public from 16 September – 13 November at RCB Photographers’ Gallery 1-2 on 2nd. Every person visiting the exhibition will have the opportunity to select their favorite painting. The votes will be tallied and the People’s Choice Prize of THB100,000 will be announced at the close of the exhibition.
RCB Portrait Prize is a platform for artists, Thai and foreign to show their talents in portrait painting so that they can advance their career as a professional artist and give an opportunity for them to display their artworks to the public. Additionally, portrait painting can be perceived as a celebration of the human relationship and the touching stories between each of them.
