BAKUMBAA: I Am the Monster

River City Bangkok proudly presents “BAKUMBAA: I Am the Monster”, the debut solo exhibition by BAKUMBAA (Danai Seneesaowaluk), the creative mind behind the four-eared creature, “Babaa”. This character, born from the artist’s personal journey and deep-seated experiences, takes center stage in this exhibition. Through evocative oil paintings and a delightful array of art toys, BAKUMBAA invites you to explore the origins of Babaa—a monster you’re bound to fall in love with.

“BAKUMBAA: I Am the Monster” tells the story of Babaa, an extraterrestrial being who finds himself stranded on Earth. Seen as a ‘monster’ by other life forms, Babaa embodies the innocence and determination of a child facing an unfamiliar world. Through trials and triumphs, Babaa carves out his own tribe, calling in “Bakumbaa”, in the hope that one day he will find companions who understand him—creatures like himself who can share in his journey.
