Enlightened War

RCB Experimental Art Lab, in collaboration with 8×8 Theater Group, proudly presents the stage play “Enlightened War”.

The story unfolds within a theater troupe rehearsing a performance of the Buddha’s journey to enlightenment, specifically the famous episode of the Mara’s Temptation or Victory Over Mara. However, trouble brews when a sponsor insists on having their product featured prominently — does the Earth Goddess need a shampoo brand? Will the Mara be swept away by the power of a mineral water bottle? And not to mention the personal issues plaguing each actor, causing chaos both on and off stage. Will this production navigate through the storm to reach Nirvana, or will it fall prey to the temptations of Mara?
