Italthai Portrait Prize 2024
On Thursday, September 26, 2024, River City Bangkok proudly hosted the Italthai Portrait Prize 2024 awards ceremony. We had the distinct honor of welcoming the Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, who graciously presented the prizes to our talented winners. Alongside him were our esteemed panel of judges, and we were thrilled to have Mr. Yuthachai Charanachitta, CEO of Italthai Group, join us in congratulating all three of our remarkable winners.
On this special occasion, we would like to once again extend our heartfelt congratulations to our winners:
1. “MY GIRL MY GANG” by artist Nuttawut Kaiwansin, the proud recipient of the Portrait Prize 2024, awarded 500,000 THB.
2. “My Wife” by artist Veeravoot Phumdong, winner of the Packing Room Prize, awarded 200,000 THB.
3. “Waiting for This Moment for So Long” by artist Rattasil Somoppahad, recipient of the Youth Prize, awarded 100,000 THB.
This year, the Italthai Group has introduced two special awards to honor the participants:
1. “Cleaning” by artist Klangkwanruethai Thanaklung
2. “Dollar” by artist Ray Yamansabeedeen
But the celebration doesn’t end there! All 72 finalist artworks will be on display in our exhibition space, RCB Galleria 3, on the 2nd floor of River City Bangkok, from September 27 to November 3, 2024. Following the exhibition’s conclusion, on November 4, 2024, we will announce the People’s Choice Prize winner.
Finally, we sincerely hope that this portrait competition will inspire and encourage talented artists, offering them the opportunity to break into the national art scene, showcase their full potential, and open doors to scholarships, commissions, recognition, and the start of a true career as a professional artist.
