RCB Experimental Art Lab: A Cage of Fragile Heart

RCB Experimental Art Lab, in collaboration with Follow the Star, presents “A Cage of Fragile Heart: An Immersive Experimental Performance”, a bold, sensory-driven performance that delves into the human condition, the invisible cages we inhabit, and the elusive nature of freedom, distilled through lived experience and spiritual reflection. Directed by Mudmee Pimdao Panichasamai—renowned artist of the Bangkok Art Biennale 2024 and an acclaimed filmmaker whose experimental short films have swept international awards—the piece stars the compelling David Bigander, with poetry by Win Nimman, known as ‘RomanticRaiPoet’, and movement direction by Pavida Wachirapanyaporn.

Human beings long for freedom—

yet often, it is we who craft the very cages that confine us.

We shape our identity through the eyes of others, burdened by expectation,

gradually losing sight of who we truly are.

“A Cage of Fragile Heart” is a spiritual inquiry—a negotiation between liberty and responsibility, between fear and courage. Told through the lone body of a performer, the work weaves movement, voice, and space into an intimate journey through the cycles of dreaming, resisting, falling, and ultimately, rediscovering the self.

“A Cage of Fragile Heart” runs for approximately 40 minutes, performed in Thai with English subtitles.

The immersive performance will take place at RCB Forum, 2nd floor, River City Bangkok. With 4 scheduled shows as follows:
