From Monet to Kandinsky
FROM MONET TO KANDINSKY is an exploration of the art world during the late 19th – the early 20th century when culture and society were going through a tumultuous revolution. In that time the new art movements like expressionism, abstract art, surrealism, and suprematism emerged. They were later united under a term “modernism”.
Modernist’s paintings often contain secret details, hidden from our initial viewing, encouraging us to investigate further. Finding new meaning in the chaos and nonsense around us. A hundred years ago the art of modernists was the first glimpse of the technological future. Today the paintings are seen in a new light.
Considered as the masters of modernism, selected works of Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Paul Gaugin, Henri Rousseau, Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, Gustav Klimt, Paul Signac, Piet Mondrian, Amedeo Modigliani, Vincent van Gogh, Pierre August Renoir, Juan Gris, Paul Klee, Edward Munch, Kazimir Malevich and Wassily Kandinsky are presented in multimedia format.
