40 Years of Magnificent Display of Art and Antiques
River City Bangkok cordially invites you to join us for “River City Bangkok: 40 Years of Magnificent Display of Art and Antiques”, a grand celebration marking the 40th anniversary of River City Bangkok, the iconic center for art and culture that has played a pivotal role in shaping the Thai art scene for four decades. This event promises an extraordinary showcase of artistic masterpieces, rare antiques, and groundbreaking exhibitions, while unveiling—for the very first time—the rich and storied history of River City Bangkok since its founding.
The celebration begins with “Ad Astra Per Aspera: Through Hardships to the Stars”, an exhibition chronicling the history of River City Bangkok through the legacy of Adisorn Charanachitta (1952-2003). As a former executive of the Oriental Hotel (now the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok) and Italthai Company (now the Italthai Group), Adisorn was instrumental in transforming River City Bangkok (formerly known as River City Shopping Complex) into the first riverside commercial center on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, renowned worldwide for its rare antiques gathered from every corner of the globe.
Next comes “Before Sunrise”, a spectacular group art exhibition featuring the works of many talented artists, brought together by seven distinguished galleries: La Lanta Fine Art, MeArt Gallery, Number1gallery, Pagoda the Art Club, Tang Contemporary Art, Trendy Gallery, and River City Bangkok. This remarkable collaboration showcases breathtaking creations, celebrating this momentous occasion in true artistic style.
The exhibition “Ad Astra Per Aspera: Through Hardships to the Stars” will be open to the public from 4 December 2024 – 12 January 2025 at RCB Artery, 1st Floor, River City Bangkok.
Meanwhile, “Before Sunrise” will welcome visitors from 4 December 2024 – 5 January 2025 at RCB Galleria 2-3, 2nd Floor, River City Bangkok. Each exhibition promises to transport art lovers to a realm where creativity shines as brightly as the stars.
