Beyond Tigers: The Journey of the Tiger in You
A solo exhibition by Thana Phothong that will take everyone on a journey of life. You will get to explore the stages of growing up reflecting a wide variety of moments in our imaginary and real worlds, including happy, sad, lonely, pleasant, and laughter through a tiger character, an emblem of power, courage, majesty with inner and outer strength.
Thana Phothong depicts three periods of everyone’s lives: childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. The stage of childhood is filled with pure and innocent thoughts and imagination, while the stage of adolescence is motivated by the bravery that gives you the capacity to strive after your ambitions, success, and satisfy their unforeseen demands without fear. Finally, the stage of adulthood in which you have conquered various challenges and tend to conduct your life more consciously as a result of coping with societal pressure while taking responsibility and dealing with complex emotions.
Through a tiger character, this exhibition will reflect individuals’ personalities as the artist believes that everyone has a tiger inside. However, we are unaware of its existence. Come and find your own tiger at this exhibition, and you will fall in love with a tiger that is more than simply an animal that is sleeping inside you.
