Cities Around Us
During these COVID times, we have all been kept in our cities, without being able to travel as we used to. We have learned to look through our windows and appreciate what we have around us.
Some are lucky to live in a house with a garden or in a small town, but some of us are kept inside a building in medium or large cities such as my hometown, Mexico City with 20 million people as the fifth most inhabited city after Tokyo, New Delhi, Shanghai, and Sao Paulo. Mexico City is 2,250 meters above sea level surrounded by mountains.
I have lived in many cities like: Lisbon, Madrid, Ankara, Oslo, Lima, Santiago de Chile, Washington DC. Nowadays, I am happily living in Bangkok, a wonderful and big city full of life, art, and amazing buildings with friendly and happy people.
As an architect, I admire Thai culture and architecture. I also admire Thai landscapes and beautiful sunsets. My artwork is inspired by these “cities around us”.
In my work, you will see urban landscapes from Bangkok and far away cities, the sunsets, streets, and cities seen from above as architectural plans.
I hope you enjoy my exhibition as much as I enjoyed painting them.
