Submission Guidelines for the Italthai Portrait Prize 2025

  • Participants are free to use any materials and mixed media, such as oil paints, acrylics, watercolors, canvas, acrylic sheets, and more. However, artworks must be entirely hand-painted—digital tools, printed images, projector-assisted techniques, or any form of mechanical reproduction are strictly prohibited.

  • Each participant is allowed to submit only one artwork.

  • The total dimensions (width x height x depth) of the submitted artwork must not exceed 2.25 meters. For example, an artwork measuring 1.5m x 1.5m would exceed the limit and thus be disqualified. This measurement applies to the artwork alone, excluding frames. If selected as a finalist, the framed artwork must not exceed 2.5 meters in height.

  • The portrait must be created from a live sitter, meaning the subject must be physically present during the painting process. Participants are required to submit photographic proof  included in the submission form showing: the artist creating the artwork, the sitter, the artwork in progress.

  • Submissions must be completed between April 1 – August 31, 2025 (11:59 PM) via Google Form (https://forms.gle/PJ9FpXwT2937nJYp9). Participants must ensure all required details are accurately provided.

  • Eligible participants must be either Thai nationals or Foreign residents who have lived in Thailand for at least 12 months prior to submission. Finalists will be required to verify their identity as follows:

    – For Thai nationals:
A copy of a valid government-issued ID (e.g., national ID card, passport, house registration, or driver’s license). Any personal details such as religion or blood type must be redacted. The document name must match the participant’s registration.

    – For foreign nationals:
A copy of a valid passport along with proof of residence in Thailand for at least 12 months, such as a Work Permit or Non-Immigrant OA Long Stay Visa. The document name must match the participant’s registration.
  • The competition is divided into two categories based on age:

    1. Ages 17 and above
Eligible for the Portrait Prize, Packing Room Prize, and People’s Choice Prize.

    2. Ages 16 and under
Eligible for the Youth Prize and People’s Choice Prize.
