No Exit
One of the world’s most influential theatrical masterpieces, No Exit continues to be performed and reinterpreted across generations. Written by renowned philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre, best known for his iconic quote, “Hell is other people,” this timeless classic returns to the stage in a dark comedy adaptation by Guhā Productions.
RCB Experimental Art Lab, in collaboration with Guhā Productions, proudly presents No Exit, a licensed production of Sartre’s celebrated play.
Originally written in the 1940s, No Exit remains strikingly relevant today. Through the symbol of a “mirror,” Sartre explores how people become trapped by the identities they create for others to believe—an idea that feels especially familiar in today’s social media-driven world. Rather than focusing on materialism, the play invites audiences to reflect on the essence of being human. Set in the afterlife, its version of “hell” has no physical torture. Instead, the people trapped there become each other’s torment.
Guhā Productions brings this classic to life as a dark comedy that is both funny and thought-provoking. Although the story takes place after death, every moment on stage encourages audiences to reflect on what it truly means to be alive. The play follows three characters who find themselves with no way out, forced to confront the truths they can no longer escape.
Directed by Vara Hong (formerly known as Nattawara Hongsuwan), the production stars Pisitpon Ekpongpisit, Supanida Wiwatrungruangdee, Nam Pakkakorn, and Aiya Phumirat.
