Only by Changing

What changes around us can reveal a different way of seeing the world, allowing us to discover details we may never have noticed before?

River City Bangkok invites you to explore the meaning of change through “Only by Changing,” the first solo exhibition by Viput A., illustrator and founder of Bangkok-based design studio Viput S. The exhibition marks his first presentation of acrylic paintings on canvas in 10 years, revealing a significant shift from illustration, which captures familiar stories from a close-up perspective, to wider compositions that open up new views of space, atmosphere, and movement. Through photo-like paintings and the use of motion blur, the works explore the interplay between movement and stillness.

Throughout the exhibition, visitors are invited to observe the relationship between things in motion and those that remain still, discovering how a shift in perspective can change the way we understand what lies before us. Stepping beyond familiar viewpoints allows us to notice overlooked details and uncover new possibilities in the world around us.

“Only by Changing” invites us to approach change with a more open perspective, because allowing life to change may be the way forward, while still carrying with us what continues to hold meaning.

“Only by Changing” is free to visit from 20 November 2026 to 15 January 2027 at RCB Galleria 3, 2nd Floor, River City Bangkok.
