RCB Experimental Art Lab
“RCB Experimental Art Lab” is an art laboratory with a red door located on the second floor of River City Bangkok. Both amateur and professional artists will be able to explore, play, learn and transport audiences to new imaginative universes in this protean space of creativity with a 100-seat capacity.
Due to the adverse economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which precipitated the closure of many spaces that served as crucibles for artistic and cultural production, many artists have lost access to the vital infrastructure and apparatuses they need to engage in art-making. Committed to the flourishing of the local arts ecosystem, River City Bangkok has pioneered “RCB Experimental Art Lab”, a multi-disciplinary space designed to support and cultivate the unbounded imagination and creativity of all art-lovers and artists. A creative laboratory equipped with a high-quality sound system and a projector, the “RCB Experimental Art Lab” endeavors to bridge gaps in material and institutional support to foster all kinds of artistic expression, encompassing movies, plays, performances, dances, talks, seminars, workshops, and much more. A project that will provide artists with opportunities to galvanize their virtuosic creativity, and audiences with an exhilarating panoply of performances and events, the “RCB Experimental Art Lab” is a place of refuge for artists and art-lovers.
To kick off the RCB Experimental Art Lab’s inaugural year, we are excited to collaborate on a number of projects throughout 2023 and 2024 with Nuni Productions, Thong Lor Art Space, The CAS, Bangkok Theater Festival and a diverse spectrum of other award-winning artists.
