Thai exceptional art auction results
Reaching more than 50 million Thai Baht!! Getting high attention from art circle in Thailand before the end of 2021. A Thai exceptional art auction held by Bangkok Art Auction Center on 18 December 2021 has achieved an excellent result.
With realised a combined total 51,566,000 THB, lots of collectors participated in both Absentee bidding, Telephone bidding and Live bidding at auction room 4th floor, River City Bangkok. It was such a good sign of initiating the art auction system in Thailand. Bangkok Art Auction Center is the first auction house in Thailand that organise a full art auction in order to standardise the price of Thai artists’ artworks by providing the authentication and evaluation of artworks by the art specialist committee as well as guaranteed quality artworks to be accepted internationally.
Top 3 Highest price realised are ‘The Greatnesses Man’, 1970, Oil painting by Thawan Duchanee at 9,200,000 THB ; ‘Tiger Biting a Bull’, 2008, Oil painting by Thawan Duchanee at 4,830,000 THB ; and ‘Manohra’, 2004, Watercolor on Paper by Chakrabhand Posayakrit at 3,105,000 THB.
Moreover, it was the first time that we offered NFT(Non-fungible token) artworks in the art auction. They attracted so many bidders. NFT Highest price realised “Burning of Metadata”, 2021 by Line Censor – Kiatanan Iamchan at 1,380,000 THB.
The return of art auction held by Bangkok Art Auction Center after 15 years was successful beyond expectation. For anyone who missed this time, please follow our next auction which will be held in 2022.
