Venus in the Shell & Meitu
Venus in the Shell is Phannapast “Yoon” Taychamaythakool’s newest exhibition, delving into human nature by drawing upon Roman mythology’s goddess of love, sex, beauty, and fertility, Venus as a metaphor.
Through installations of mixed media – paintings, sculpture, mosaic tiles and video – the exhibition is presented in five chapters: Venus in the Shell, Forbidden flower, Moonlight Dive, Mandragora in the Vase, and The Wanderer. Each chapter invites the visitor to explore the depths of human nature; fragility, love, joy, jealousy, lightness, and darkness.
To encourage greater engagement with the exhibition, Venus in the Shell is collaborating with Meitu, the augmented reality (AR) application that enables the user to enjoy installations digitally with their smartphones.
