Monet’s Bridge

In 1893, Claude Monet purchased land in the village of Giverny, located on the right bank of the river Seine where it joins the Epte River, 80 km west-northwest of Paris in the province of Normandy. On the land was a pond and over the pond is a bridge.

Monet dedicated the final 20 years of his life to a series which he painted in his Japanese-style garden established on the land. ‘Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies’ (1899) is the most famous painting of this series.

For THE IMPRESSIONISTS, River City Bangkok has recreated Monet’s bridge. You will find it as you enter the immersion galleries, the projected artworks on the walls, and the projected pond under the bridge. Stand on the bridge as the masterpieces come to life and music swells. Be transported to Monet’s garden in France… it’s an exquisite location for photography.
