WEDNESDAY: ALL OVER THE PLACE
River City Bangkok is proud to present “WEDNESDAY: ALL OVER THE PLACE,” the second solo exhibition by NEWYEAR, an illustrator and contemporary pop artist. The exhibition invites visitors to embark on a journey alongside Wednesday, an introverted Dachshund who has never been particularly confident in herself.

Embark on a journey with “Wednesday,” the long little pup with a big, anxious heart. She will guide you to check in with your worries, look fear in the eye, smile right back at anxiety, and take brave little steps forward together…
even on days when your two legs (and her four legs) are still a little wobbly.
This journey is not about visiting iconic landmarks or capturing picture-perfect moments; rather, it is about confronting one’s fears and uncertainties with honesty and courage.
Throughout her travels, Wednesday encounters unfamiliar people, places, and experiences. These encounters do more than encourage her to engage with the outside world—they also serve as mirrors, reflecting the emotions, anxieties, confusion, and unanswered questions that reside within her.

“WEDNESDAY: ALL OVER THE PLACE” is a story about gradually coming to know oneself through moments that are imperfect, solitary, and often far from what one had hoped for through Wednesday’s small footsteps. The exhibition encourages visitors to pursue what their hearts are calling them toward in their own way—to step beyond the familiar, even when they do not feel completely ready. After all, reaching the destination may not be the most important part of the journey.
It’s fine if you don’t feel completely ready. Wednesday is still a little nervous herself.

This exhibition takes you through 5 distinct spaces—a journey of growth, emotional states, and an exploration of Wednesday’s inner world, which mirrors the thoughts inside all of us.

ZONE 1: Wednesday in a loop
A simulated maze of thoughts that reflects the state of overthinking—an experience most of us know all too well. In this room, Wednesday is trapped in a loop of her own mind. She tries to over-analyze every option, searching for the perfect answer before making a move. Ultimately, fear keeps her paralyzed, leaving her circling the exact same spot, waiting for a sense of ‘certainty’ that never arrives.

ZONE 2: After long thinking
A tiny yet significant turning point occurs when the suffocation inside her cramped box finally reaches its limit. Wednesday begins to realize that staying trapped by her own fear is far scarier than simply walking outside. This room tells the story of gathering a small scrap of courage—a tiny spark that gives her the strength to “open the door” and stick her head out to look the wide world in the eye for the very first time.

ZONE 3: Out of comfort zone
Once she steps past her safe space, Wednesday begins her journey through entirely unpredictable environments—from freezing cold landscapes to strange, unfamiliar places. This room is filled with colors and mixed emotions, blending both excitement and anxiety. Yet, Wednesday chooses to open her heart to these differences, observing them with her own eyes and capturing the memories with all the heart she has.

ZONE 4: Time for Self-reflection
After navigating the chaotic world outside, it is finally time for Wednesday to rest in a quiet, peaceful space. This zone offers a moment to let our thoughts settle. As the noise around her fades, the many questions she carried in her suitcase begin to untangle. She discovers that the answers to life might not be hidden at some faraway destination, but rather in the spaces and stillness along the path she has already walked.

ZONE 5: Perfectly imperfect
The conclusion and final destination of the journey. Resting under the shade of a giant mushroom, Wednesday sheds the expectations and pressure she used to place on herself. She now understands that there are so many things in this world beyond her control, and being yourself doesn’t require perfection at all. This final room acts as a warm embrace, reminding everyone that a new version of yourself—one that is at peace and knows how to practice self-love—is a version that is brave enough to proudly embrace its own imperfections.
In an exciting first for River City Bangkok, pet parents can finally share their love for art with their furry family members!
