Decoding 365º : May 24

Fans of Star Wars will know 25 May is significant for Stormtroopers. On this day in 1977, George Lucas introduced his epic motion picture to the world. However, on 24 May, some of the lucky fans were selected to watch a special sneak preview of Star Wars in the theatre in Beverly Hills, California before the release of the film.  

Star Wars immediately broke box office records and was a huge success for 20th Century-Fox. With a production budget of $11 million, the first film in the Star Wars trilogy took $1.5m in its first week in the US and went on to gross $775m worldwide. The film won both Oscar and the Grammy awards, and to this day is one of the most successful movie franchises of all time.

The original Star Wars trilogy stars Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia Organa. It became a phenomenal moment in the film history. Following the success of the Star Wars trilogy, both prequel and sequel trilogies where produced.

It goes without saying, Star Wars fans shouldn’t miss this private viewing. Come face-to-face with the Stormtroopers. There is even a lucky draw.
